Setting Intentions for Growth: My Journey to Level Up as a Developer in 2025
Every new year brings a fresh opportunity to set goals—not resolutions, but real, actionable goals that shape our future.
In 2025, I want to push myself to grow as a developer, improve my skills, and contribute to the tech community. After spending January planning, I’m ready to commit. Here are my five key goals for the year.
1. Publish 3 Blog Posts Per Week
I started a blog on Hashnode but barely posted—only two articles in 2023. This year, I want to change that by consistently publishing three posts per week. I have plenty of ideas, and now it’s time to execute. Writing regularly will not only improve my skills but also help me document my learning journey.
2. Read and Code Along with a Programming Book
Instead of only watching coding tutorials, I want to dive into programming books—especially from O’Reilly. Whether it's SQL, JavaScript, or AI, I’ll pick a book and code while reading. This method should deepen my understanding compared to passive learning.
3. Listen to Coding & Tech Management Podcasts
Podcasts are an underrated learning tool. Many developers stick to YouTube and Instagram influencers, but podcasts like JavaScript Jabber provide deep, insightful discussions. I plan to set aside time each week to listen and absorb industry knowledge.
4. Engage More with the Developer Community
Networking is essential, no matter your experience level. This year, I’ll actively participate in tech communities on LinkedIn and Discord. My goal is to join at least 5–6 relevant communities and contribute meaningfully.
5. Host a Codementor Talk
I’ve attended several Codementor Talks and found them incredibly insightful. Now, I want to step up and host my own. It’s a challenge, but I’m excited to share knowledge and gain experience speaking in a public forum.
Final thoughts
